Way back in 2007, we informed you about a wealthy Middle Eastern Sheikh, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud who has placed an order for an Airbus A380. Well, almost 5 years since, the luxurious private jet is finally ready for delivery. Touted to be the world’s most expensive personal jet, with a final price well more than $500 million, this private jet is truly one of a kind. The original plans included a garage for two Rolls-Royces, a stable for horses and camels, a pen for hawks, and a prayer room that rotates, so it always points toward Mecca. Promising to be the trendsetter when it comes to laying the standards for doing business in style, above 40,000ft, this jet is sure to be the envy of many-a-high flyers.
Recently a new version of Boeings 747-8 Intercontinental, the Boeing 747-V.I.P, was delivered to another Middle East customer, believed to be Qatar’s emir. Given the increasing demand for high flyers for privacy and exclusive travel modes, it seems like good days are back for the private aviation industry. Only recently we told you about the rising demand for private jets in China. Wonder if this trend will lead to the birth of a private jet that is more expensive and luxurious than the Airbus A380.
