Lurssen is grabbing eyeballs owing to the launch of a mammoth 400-foot luxury vessel, Project Jag. The ship cloaked in secrecy throughout her build gave the world a glimpse into its majestic demeanor and a few clues that made it easy to guess the affluent owner. The newly finished superyacht evidently belongs to the billionaire owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham F.C., Shahid Khan. The third superyacht of the sports tycoon boasted a Nuvolari Lenard exterior as she hit the water in Rendsburg, Germany.
The vessel is believed to be a replacement for the Pakistan-born businessman’s $200 million yacht Kismet, bearing similar design signatures – an elongated bowsprit, al fresco deck space, and the instantly recognizable Jaguar mascot that is positioned under the bowsprit on this ship.
312-feet superyacht Kismet sported a beautiful silver Jaguar mascot on her bow, paying homage to the tycoon, worth $8 billion. Project Jag is an improved, bigger vessel that adds nearly 100 feet, providing more world-class amenities.
If Kismet could accommodate her owner’s extravagant lifestyle and his entire sports team, Project Jag would surely do it with more luxury. As opposed to Kismet’s eight guest cabins Project Jag accommodates 20 guests across 11 staterooms, looked after by a crew of 40. This floating homage will feature a well-designed indoor theatre and also an alfresco cinema set-up. A helipad, wellness center, well-equipped gymnasium, several toys, and tenders are part of the $360 million megayacht. With a bigger, better boat Khan will shell out a minimum of $30 million annually in running costs.
