Lexus unveils a Sports Yacht – Packs in 885 horsepower and oozes style

Lexus is making a foray into unchartered waters (excuse the pun!) with their new Sport Yacht. The brand has always been known for their cars, but this new launch seems like a new chapter for the company. Autoblog reported that the idea was formed when the company’s CEO, Akio Toyoda, was trying a yacht that use Toyota diesel engines. He became curious about what a sporty, luxury yacht created in Lexus design would be like and the Toyota Marine Department and Lexus took up the challenge.

The yacht is equipped with enough seating for eight on the deck and two of those seats fold out from either side of the captain’s chair. The yacht’s captain can access two touchscreens, a small one in the wheel and a large one ahead for instruments and other information. Below, the forward passenger cabin is features air conditioning, a table, and sofa seating for six and uses materials like leather and wood. The yacht’s is complete with a sink, refrigerator, and stove, while the bathroom is equipped with a shower.

There’s no word on whether yachts will be added to the Lexus roster. But if it did happen it wouldn’t be unprecedented as Aston Martin and Mercedes are already edging into the yacht market. Going by the beautiful pictures released by the company, it shouldn’t be too hard for them to drum up interest for this new potential offering.
